Skeet Shooting: Skeet shooting is a popular shotgun sport where participants aim to break clay targets that are mechanically thrown into the air from two fixed stations. The targets are released from the "high house" and the "low house," located at opposite ends of a semicircular field. Shooters move through a series of eight shooting stations arranged in a semicircle between the two houses, with the goal of hitting the targets as they cross the field at various angles. Skeet shooting requires precision, timing, and the ability to quickly track and shoot moving targets.
Trap Shooting: Trap shooting is another shotgun sport focused on shooting clay targets, but with a different setup. In trap, the targets are launched from a single "trap house" located in front of the shooter. The targets are thrown away from the shooter at varying angles, simulating the flight of game birds. Participants stand in a line at one of five shooting stations positioned in a slight arc behind the trap house. Each shooter takes turns calling for a target, which is then launched at unpredictable angles, challenging the shooter’s ability to quickly react and accurately aim.
Both skeet and trap shooting are enjoyed by hunters and shooting sports enthusiasts alike and are often part of competitive shooting events. These sports require a blend of skill, concentration, and practice, making them both challenging and rewarding for participants of all levels.
